Yopo (Anadenanthera peregrina, also known as Yopo, Cohoba, Mopo, Nopo, Parica or Calcium Tree) is a perennial tree native to the Carribean and South America.

Shamans use Yopo Seeds in a spiritual context and believe the visionary dream-state induced by yopo allows them to contact spirits in the spirit world. The roasted seeds are ground and mixed with a little water before drying the mixture and using as a snuff.

The effects begin within approximately 15-30 minutes and can last up to 2-3 hours.

Many users report the following experiences:

• Visuals: Objects seen with the eye may appear to be swirling and changing colour;
• Audible: The user may hear dreamy sounds and voices;
• In a dark setting, users may experience full dream-like phenomena, interacting with other-worldly places, people, etc.
